ST ANDREWS U13s B 156-3

WELLINGTON U13s 106-6

WELLINGTON Under 13s took on their Taunton St Andrews B counterparts in their second SCB game of this short season last Friday evening and put up a good show at the Wyvern Club despite losing by 50 runs, writes David Derrick.

The Saints were asked to bat first on Wellington winning the toss and with knocks of 28 from Harvey and 26 from Keiran the home side got themselves into a good position as wickets came the way of Will Crossley, Fin Chant and Jude Wickramasinghe.

The Wellington boys bowled a few too many wides once more and need to refine that aspect of their bowling.

Wellington’s batting effort was a decent one and saw skipper Tom Hopkins retire on 32 as did Will Crossley and they posted a three figure score of their own.

Their third game in this four-match series was against Taunton CC at home and was scheduled to have been played yesterday evening (Thursday).
