KAI Fisher, captain of Evo-Stik Southern League side Barnstaple Town, has signed for Toolstation League premier division outfit Wellington, writes Barry Knott.

Wellington boss Clive Jones explained last night: “Kai’s partner is expecting a baby and he doesn’t want the commitment of Southern League football.

“He won’t be available too much this month but then intends to play for us regularly.”

Centre half Fisher played his first game for Wellington in the 1-0 home win over Cribbs over the weekend, with Jack Bryant scoring the winning goal midway through the second half.

“Kai’s a class act,” added Jones whose side face a trip to Odd Down in Bath for a league game this Saturday.
