WELLINGTON AFC are holding a committee meeting on Sunday in which they are expected to reappoint first team manager Richard Cherry for another season.

Cherry has just completed his first season in charge in which the side finished 15th in the premier division of the Toolstation League - the same as the previous season.

The club's vice-chairman Graham Aspin has confirmed there will be a committee meeting on Sunday but no decision has been taken yet about managers.

"Personally I cannot see any changes," he said. "As far as I'm concerned I'm happy with the present set-up.

"The side improved as the season went on. And, of course, we beat Helston last month and they won the championship, finishing four points clear of the field. That’s was a splendid performance.

"Richard has talked about next season - and how the side has been improving all the time. And we have better players now than at the beginning of the season.

"It is not an easy job being a manager especially when you look at what some sides are paying out. But the situation at the moment is that we have not made a decision."
