EX-first team boss Mike Hawes is the new manager of Wellington’s Under 18 side who play in South Division of the Somerset Youth Football League.

He takes over from Paul Pocock who has stepped down to concentrate on running the club’s reserve team who play in the Devon and Exeter League.

Wellington finished fourth in the Somerset League, winning five, drawing two and losing five of their games.

“Obviously I would like to improve on this next season,” he said. “I want to keep as many of last season’s players as possible and add some others to the squad. It is not always easy to field a settled side for floodlit games because players have other commitments.”
