WELLINGTON will be looking to bounce back after their 3-1 home defeat by Wells City when they play Oldland Abbotonians in Division One of the Toolstation League at the Playing Field on Saturday (3.00).
Wellington will be hoping that the injured pair Tim Legg and Luke Redrup, who both missed the game against City through injury, will be fit.
Jack Bryant, one of four brothers in Wellington’s side, is also suffering from a worrying calf muscle injury.
“I think Oldland have been the best footballing side we’ve played this season,” said Wellington boss Clive Jones who described his team’s display against City as ‘poor’.
“We lost at Oldland but we played some good stuff up there and I’m looking forward to another such game.”
Wellington’s latest signing George Rogers came on for the last 20 minutes again City and looked good. He is expected to be in contention for a place in the starting line up this coming Saturday.
“There was something missing against Well and we paid for it,” added Jones.
Wellington are lying 10th in the table but would have gone seventh if they had beaten Wells.
“All we can do is work at our game in the coming weeks and hope our results will continue improving,” said Jones.
Wellington Reserves are home to army side Lympstone in Division One of the Devon and Exeter League on Saturday, Hemyock are also home to Newtown Reserves in Division Two while Wellington Thirds are away to Cheriton Fitzpaine in Division Seven.
