WELLINGTON’s football manager Tim Legg admits he faces plenty of competition in trying to hold on to talented midfielder Josh Wadham.

“He’s a player we want to keep at Wellington but we know other clubs are interested in signing him,” said Legg.

“At the moment I don’t know what my playing budget will be but I will not be asking for money we haven’t got. In the present circumstances it is very difficult. All clubs are in the same position.

“Obviously I want to make Wellington a better team than last season. We could do with a striker who can create and score goals but every side will say the same.

“I still think we are in a good position. I’m in touch with the managers of the reserves, thirds and Under 18s in a bid to strengthen the team.

“I have also spoken to possible new players.”
