THE stage is set for Wellington Football Club’s Selwyn Aspin Memorial Charity Event on Sunday, April 24.
The event is in memory of Selwyn Aspin, a former chairman and first team manager. The day will start at 1pm with a youth penalty shoot out and crossbar challenge.
There will then be a re-match with the Mixed Ladies and Legends teams following last year’s 3-3 draw. Kick off 2.30pm.
The football club this year are supporting local charity ‘Think Amy’ who will be attending with a stall to raise awareness.
Wellington Mayor Janet Lloyd has been invited to award medals to the youth teams at half time. There will also be an official opening ceremony for the new ‘Think Amy’ Football pitch board behind the goal. Wellington FC look forward to welcoming everyonel to the event and hope you can join in with the atmosphere and help raise funds for our chosen charity and club. There will be food/drinks/raffle/sweets and much more! The Ladies team are currently looking for new players to start training again over the summer.
