WELLINGTON’S new boss Tim Legg believes his new-look side did “really well” to draw 1-1 at home against Cadbury Heath in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League over the weekend.

Legg, who has replaced Clive Jones as manager, brought in new signings George Sinnott, Tom Stone, Luke Boyle and Charlie Dodd, while he singled out for praise local youngsters Jordan Mace and Josh Baker, who were called up, and Ollie Holman who made the starting line-up for the first time.

“I want there to be plenty of competiiton for places,” said Legg who has played Southern League football for Taunton Town and Bridgwater Town but is currently not playing.

“I am expecting more faces to come in, whether they be new players or old players.”

Meanwhile, Wellington are home again in the league on Saturday, when they play Street who beat them 4-2 away earlier in the season (3.00).

Wellington Reserves play away to Winchester in Division One of the Devon and Exeter League, while Wellington A play on Friday against Galmington Dragons in the Rowbarton Charity Cup on Castle Sports Centre’s 3G pitch.

Paul Pocock, who quit after the departure of Clive Jones, has joined Sidmouth Town as assistant manager.
