WELLINGTON’S Les Phillips Cup quarter final at home to Cheddar has been rearranged for Wednesday, January 28 (7.45p.m).
The tie should have been played last weekend but was called off in the morning because of the poor state of the pitch following heavy rain.
Wellington are lying 16th in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League, while Cheddar are just above the relegation zone in the first division.
Wellington beat Shepton Mallet at home in the previous round, winning 2-1 with two late goals. Cheddar have won only three matches in the league but gained a surprise 2-1 away victory over promotion-chasing Avonmouth last weekend. It was only Avonmouth’s second loss of the season but they remain third, four points behind leaders Devizes Town.
Meanwhile, Wellington face a trip into Devon this coming weekend (Jan 24) to play Ivybridge Town who are lying 12th in the table. Wellington will be chasing a double, having beaten Ivybridge 3-1 at home in mid-November, with goals from James De Selincourt, Douglas Camilo and Sam Towler.
Wellington Reserves play at home to Crediton United in the Premier Division of the Devon & Exeter League on Saturday, January 24 (2.15p.m.). The Reserves are lying fourth in the table and trail leaders Upottery by nine points but have a game in hand, while Crediton are sixth, four points behind Wellington with two matches in hand.
Wellington A will be chasing their first win of the season - and their first point - when they play at home to Galmington in the Premier Division of the Taunton Saturday League at Court Fields School (2p.m.).
Galmington are lying third in the table, three points behind leaders Wembdon, both sides having played the same number of matches. Wellington have lost all 11 of their league games, including a 3-0 loss away to Bridgwater Grasshoppers last weekend.
