WELLINGTON AFC’s first team report back for pre-season training on the 3G pitch at Court Fields School on Tuesday, June 17.

A club spokesman said: “We’re also busy firming up a programme of friendlies ahead of our first match in the Jewson Western League premier division on Saturday, July 26th.

Dates so far are: Saturday, July 5th v Brixham (home at Court Fields); Saturday, July 12th v Middlezoy (venue to be confirmed); Saturday, July 16th v Willand Rovers (away); Saturday, July 19th v Bideford (away).

There will be the same number of teams in the premier division this coming season but there will have four new opponents after Portishead Town and Brixham were promoted while Ilfracombe Town and Welton Rovers were relegated. Helston Athletic are back after dropping down from the Southern League, Bradford Town have been promoted from Division One and Newquay and Sidmouth Town have both come up from the South West Peninsula League.
