WELLINGTON Reserves suffered a disappointing 4-0 defeat away to St Martins in the Premier Division of the Stitch2Print Devon & Exeter Football League. On a heavy pitch, it was a bad day at the office as the Wellington lads were out-fought by St Martins who were below them in the table but have games in games on almost all teams in the division. The result leaves them sixth in the table and they will be looking to bounce back on Saturday, November 29, when they host Sidmouth Town Reserves at the Carly Press Ground.
Fixtures: Colyton v University of Exeter, Feniton v Ottery St Mary, Lyme Regis v Crediton United Reserves, Upottery v St Martins, Wellington Reserves v Sidmouth Town Reserves, Winkleigh v East Budleigh.
Meanwhile Wellington’s first team, who had a blank weekend, will be back in action on Saturday when they play away to bottom side AFC St Austell in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League.
The Cornish side have played 19 league matches this season and have yet to pick up a single point - and have a goals difference of minus 103. They went down 4-0 at home to Street in their latest match. Wellington go into the game in 16th place in the division, with five wins from 17 fixtures, three draws and nine losses.
The division is headed by Clevedon Town who have a four-point lead over second-placed Sidmouth Town - and also have a game in hand. Torpoint Athletic are third on goal difference and have lost only one of their 16 games.
Wellington A, bottom of the Premier Division in the Centregreat Taunton & District Saturday League, have a tough away match against top of the table Wembdon who have dropped only three points. They have a three-point lead over second-placed Dunwear United.
Wellington have lost all eight of their league matches this season.
