WELLINGTON will be chasing their first rugby win of the season when they play at home to Ivybridge in Regional Two South West on Saturday, December 6 (2.30p.m.).
Wellington have lost all ten of their games this season and are bottom of the table, while Ivybridge are fifth with six victories from ten matches.
Wellington 2nd XV will also be looking to get off the mark when they play away to second-placed Tor in Counties Three Somerset South.
Neighbours Wiveliscombe will be aiming to strengthen their position at the top of Counties One Western West when they play away to Plymstock Oaks who are ninth. Wiveliscombe 2nd XV are home to top of the table Wells in Counties Three Somerset South (2.15 p.m.).
Meanwhile Wellington, whose football derby at home to Bridgwater United on Wednesday (Dec 3) was called off because of the poor state of the pitch, play away to Bradford Town in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League on Saturday, December 6.
On postponing the game against Bridgwater, the Wellington club stated: “A video inspection with the match referee concluded that the pitch at the Carly Press Ground had not dried out sufficiently. “The weather hasn’t been kind to the Tangerines lately - last weekend, they travelled to St Austell only for the game to be called off by the referee before kick-off.”
Bradford are lying in 14th place in the table, while Wellington are 16th, only three points behind their rivals with four matches in hand.
Wellington Reserves, fourth in the Premier Division of the Devon & Exeter League, are home to St Martins (2.15p.m.), also on Saturday, while Wellington Wildcats will be looking to keep up the pressure at the top of Division One in the Somerset Women’s League when they play away to eighth-placed Frome Town on Sunday.
