WELLINGTON’S football manager Clive Jones has swooped to sign another striker - George Sinnott from Toolstation League rivals Bridgwater Town.

He will train this week along with another new signing, Charlie Bridges, who has joined Wellington from Street.

“George has plenty of pace and is a busy player,” said Jones yesterday. “With Ian Bellinger out for a while, we’ve needed to beef up the attack. He has played first team football this season but has been playing for the reserves recently.

“He will be in the squad for the away game against Brislington on Saturday week.”

Wellington had no match on Saturday because their scheduled game at home to Premier Division leaders Street was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.

Jones held a training session at the Playing Field on Saturday which attracted 23 players and intends to hold another this Saturday.

Conor Bryant, who has not played since the beginning of December, trained along with club captain and brother Sam Bryant. Both have been sidelined with injuries.

“I’m hoping to play Sam in the reserves on Saturday and that he will be fit to play against Brislington the following week,” Jones said.
