HOLYWELL Lake showed why they are top of Division A in the Wellington Ex-Services Skittles League when they scored 413 on Relyon’s own alley, beating their title rivals by 65 pins - the biggest winning margin of the night.
Reservists move to within two points of the leaders following their comfortable 49-pin victory over Fireguard A. A further two points adrift are Home Guard 2 (had a bye) and Relyon who share third place although Relyon have played a game more.
Bell Green are not out of the title race playing in fifth spot, five points behind the leaders following their 11 success over Queens Legs. The closest winning total of just two was by sixth-placed placed Cottage Pies over the Oaks.
Shooters got their second home win of the season against bottom team Hot Shots, winning by 31, Wardens are seventh after beating Angels by 26 and Muscotts are eighth after beating Club Rockers by 29. Report Centre A squeezed through by five against Rebels.
In Division B, King Pins are sitting alone up high after winning and nearest rivals Mowers having a bye. They are now seven points clear - but have played a game more. Last week they beat bottom team Stragglers by 65 - the biggest win of the night. The Rugby Boys move up to third after beating United Services by 30.
Scuppas were 39-pin winners against Moonrakers and go fourth and Ex-Servicemen are fifth after a 56-pin win over Railwayites.
The closest win by just four pins was by Outsiders (sixth) over Odds & Ends, while All Stars beat Soccerites by 25 and Foresters beat Home Guard 4 by 56.
