WELLINGTON will be looking to maintain their splendid home form when they play Falmouth Town in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League today (Sat, 3pm).

Wellington are unbeaten at home in their last nine matches and have lost only two games over 90 minutes at the Playing Field this season.

Joint manager Alex Pope said: “We’re now on a good run at home. We have the character to bounce back when things do not go our way.

“We sat down earlier this season and had a good chat about why things were not going right. We spoke about what our values should be. We have been working on this all season and it is paying off. The late penalty against Ashton last weekend came at a bad time but we showed character by hitting back to win. We’ve gone five matches without losing - and collected 13 points.”

Falmouth are lying ninth in the table while Wellington are 12th, six points behind with a game in hand. Wellington’s current form is such that they are capable of finishing in the top half at the end of the season. Wellington are also away to 13th place Street in another league match next Wednesday.

Defender Tom Stone returns to Wellington’s squad tomorrow, but captain Glen Wright is unavailable.

Wellington Reserves, who are also on a roll - unbeaten in 11 games - have no match tomorrow but play at home to Newton St Cyres in Division One of the Devon and Exeter League next Wednesday. The Reserves are lying third in the table, only four points behind Upottery who lost for the first time this season to the Reserves last weekend.

Hemyock are away to leaders Heavitree United in Division Three.

Wellington A, who lost 6-1 away to Redgate in the Premier Division of the Britannia Lanes Taunton Saturday League, play title-chasing Redgate at The Rec today (2.30pm). Redgate are three points behind leaders Wembdon with a crucial game in hand. Wellington Ladies are home to Paulton Rovers Reserves in Division One of the Somerset Women’s League on Sunday (2pm) while Wellington Wildcats have completed their season as champions of Division Two South.
