MIGHTY Mowers are overall champions of the Wellington Ex-Services Skittles League after overcoming Division A winners Bell Green by 52 pins in the play-off at the RGI on Friday.

Mowers, who have won the Division B title for 22 successive years, hit a fine score of 389 with Darren Winter knocking 60 for the Thursday champions, while there was also some consistent skittling by his teammates.

For Bell Green Mike Johnson led the way with 53 and with solid scores in the 40s from others the effort of the Friday champions was a sterling one, but it was just not quite enough overall.
