P. Fancy and S. Gamlin both hit 52 for United Services and V. Milton was the top scorer for Mowers with 48. Mowers picked up the two bonus points on offer by hitting the highest overall score. Scores: United Services 335 (3 hands), Mowers 344 (3 hands).

Odds and Ends 371 (5 ), All Stars 325 (1 ): Odds and Ends started their Ken Bright campaign with a solid victory over All Stars at the Cottage Inn, the game having to be moved at the eleventh hour due to repair work being carried out on the upstairs Conservative Club alley. Odds and Ends found the Cottage to their liking, winning five hands and taking the bonus points to see them bank 12 points in all.

A tough game awaits them next time out against Mowers at the Institute. All Stars will be hoping to bank some points as they take on Ex-Servicemen at the Football Club.

Group B has got underway this week with the Ken Bright Cup holders Outsiders being joined by Here 4 the Beer, King Pins and Scuppas in search of silverware.
