VETERAN Rob Moysey snapped up 5-32 as Wellington maintained their 100 per cent record at the top of the Somerset Division in the West of England Premier Cricket League with a four-wicket away victory over fourth-placed Frome last Saturday.

It enabled them to stay 24 points ahead of second-placed Chard who were involved in an exciting home game against bottom side Butleigh before winning by nine runs.

Frome scored 184-9 in their 50 overs with Moysey taking his wickets during a splendid ten-over spell. All of Frome's top-order batters made runs with Scott Lewis (33), Luke Podgett (42) and James Unwin (24) leading the way.

Wellington skipper Arron Campbell took 2-42, while Toby Stirzaker and Andy Hurry picked up a wicket apiece.

Wellington do not do things the easy way and lost two wickets for one run before Tom Hazel-Evans (24) and Sandaken Pathirani (29) brought some calm to the innings.

Campbell made a patient 18 before vice-captain Luke Desave (36 not out) and Callum Hendy (37 not out) saw Wellington over the line with an unbeaten seventh-wicket partnership of 64 runs.

Reece Croker took 3-53 in ten overs for Frome while there were wickets for Mark Sanger, Ethan Cox and Arthur Harman.

Elsewhere third-placed Wembdon lost ground in the title race after losing by 63 runs to Yeovil, being all out for 129 when chasing 193 to win.

Wellington, who are now 64 points ahead of Wembdon, will be back in action at the Playing Field tomorrow (Sat) when they play Taunton St Andrews 2nd XI.

Wellington have now won all 11 games they have played, with two others cancelled because of bad weather.
