WELLINGTON Rugby Club will be going all out for cup success on Saturday when they face Swindon in the RFU Intermediate Cup Divisional Final.

Swindon - who play in the Southern Counties South League - have home advantage and will be favourites to win the game.

But Wellington, buoyed by travelling supporters, will be hoping to triumph in what will be a difficult and unpredictable game.

Swindon won through to the divisional final with a 42pts-14 Southern Counties semi-final victory over Reading and then defeating Witney 48pts-nil in the Southern Counties final.

Wellington’s avenue to the divisional final has not been as straight-forward as their opponents.

They overcome the challenge of Barton Hill with a 23pts-14 victory in the South West Counties semi-final and they gained a narrow 14pts-5 win in the South West Counties final against Bideford.

Wellington do not know too much about their opposition, but Swindon are currently third in the Southern Counties South League having won 13 of their 17 games to dates.

With Wellington having won 16 of their 20 games so far in the Western Counties West League it looks as if the final will be a battle between two well-matched teams.
