WELLINGTON ended the year in Regional Two South West with a rare bonus point although losing 53-28 at home to Crediton.

Trailing 29-7 at the interval, Wellington showed plenty of character in scoring three successive tries to reduce the arrears to 47-28 - with skipper George Hodgson, Jonny Clist and Ollie Price all crossing the visitors’ line, with Mikey Taylor kicking all three conversions.

The first half, however, belonged very much to Crediton who led by a comfortable margin at the interval, with Callum Warren snapping up the home side’s only try with Taylor - who enjoyed a field day with his kicking - adding the conversion points.

Victory enabled Crediton to pull off the season’s double over Wellington who lost 21-12 away to the Devon outfit in mid-September.

Wellington go into the New Year having lost all 12 of their league matches - and facing an almost impossible task of trying to avoid relegation.
