WELLINGTON Rugby Club are pleased to announce that Frenchman Nic Sestaret has joined their coaching set-up.
Nic is a former professional rugby union player for 13 years, playing in Premiership in France (Toulouse) and England (Exeter Chiefs). He has also played for Plymouth Albion as well as representing France U21s and the Barbarians.
While playing for the Exeter Chiefs, a highlight for Nic was winning the Championship play off final in 2010, which saw Exeter gain promotion to the Premiership. He is currently Head of Rugby at Taunton School and was with North Petherton last season.
“We are over the moon that Nic wanted to, and agreed, to join the club,” said assistant coach Allyn Chetland. “With his vast knowledge and experience Nic is undoubtedly a valuable addition to our coaching team. WRFC are extremely proud that 90% of the playing squad are home grown talent - Nic’s appointment ensures that the squad gets the best available coaching to continue developing their game and skills.”
Wellington have not ruled out Sestaret playing for the first team if it will help the youngsters.
The current head coach is Gavin Dawe, the former England and Bath international, who led Wellington to the Cornwall and Devon League title in his first season with the club and almost steered them to more success during the past season in Western Counties.
