WELLINGTON will be looking to bounce back after their controversial one-point defeat at Honiton over the weekend when they play their first home match in the Cornwall and Devon League on Saturday – against Lanner (3.00), writes Barry Knott.

And it promises to be a tough game because Lanner chalked up a 58-14 home win over Torrington in their first match of the season.

Saturday’s game at Honiton was always going to be close and Wellington will be disappointed with the result – and the refereeing decisions – after playing impressively in a pre-season friendly against Minehead Barbarians.

It is clear, too, that it will not be easy to get out of the Cornwall and Devon League.
