WELLINGTON’S rugby skipper Micky Norman could be a surprise inclusion in the side for Saturday’s away match against Stroud in Western Counties North.
Norman missed Saturday’s narrow home defeat by Chew Valley with a foot injury sustained the previous weekend.
An x-ray revealed no break although there was dislocation of small bones.
Centre George Hooper and second row Chris Kitto, who have both been sidelined recently, are in the Wellington squad but player-coach Matt Parsons has damaged shoulder ligaments and could be out for a month. This means he looks like missing the derby clash at Wiveliscombe on Boxing Day.
Wellington face a tough game against Stroud who have not lost a home game this season.
Parsons said: “We were disappointed to lose to Chew Valley. We totally outplayed them in the opening 25 minutes.
“Things don’t go for you when you need the points. We have a very young side and we must be patient.”
Wellington 2nd XV are home to Imperial in Somerset One while the 3rds are due to play at home to Crewkerne in Somerset Three South.
Wiveliscombe, held to a 19-19 draw at St Bernadettes in Somerset Premier, are home to Yatton while their 2nds are away to Morganians in Somerset Two South.
