WIVELISCOMBE are having good numbers at their twice-weekly training sessions.

“We’re getting between 30 and 40 players at each session but it is very frustrating not knowing when the season will start,” said the club’s director of rugby, Jake Sharland.

“Consequently we cannot make any progress. The problem is keeping players interested. There doesn’t appear to be any consistency with the Government’s guidelines regarding Covid-19. We also haven’t opened our clubhouse because it would not be worth it. The club’s finances are in a healthy position with a good working profit being reported at our annual meeting.

“It’s very fortunate we don’t have to worry too much about money.”
