YOUNGSTER Cameron Venn has played his last game for Western Counties North side Wellington this season.

Venn, who has played first team rugby at No 8 or in the second row, is off travelling Down Under.

He is one of about ten players from Wellington’s successful Under 18 team from last season.

“We’ve never had so many come through in one go,” said Wellington’s player-coach Matt Parsons.

“But, of course, they are still learning their trade. Western Counties is a difficult league for young players. They have to learn quickly.

“It’s exciting for the club and we should get the real benefit from them next season. Normally we lose young players to university or they move away.”
