WELLINGTON face another tough match in Western Counties West when they play at home to fourth-placed Truro on Saturday (2.30).
The Cornish side beat Wellington 36-22 when they met at Truro in early October.
Wellington will also be looking to bounce back after losing 33-15 away to new leaders Devonport Services over the weekend.
“We had a crazy ten-minutes just before and half time which cost us the match,” said Wellington’s caretaker coach Allyn Chetland afterwards. “In the second half we scored two fantastic tries and played some good rugby.”
Wellington are hoping to name a full-strength side for Saturday’s game. They are still third from bottom but are only four points behind Burnham on Sea who play away to fifth-placed Wadebridge Camels.
Wiveliscombe, whose home game in Somerset Premier on Saturday against Bridgwater and Albion 2nd XV was postponed because of a frozen pitch, are away to bottom side Bristol Harlequins who gained their first win of the season when they beat visitors Gordano 29-12 over the weekend.
Wellington 2nd XV, whose match against Chew Valley in Somerset One at the Playing Field was also called off, are away to local rivals Wyvern while Wiveliscombe 2nd XV, who have hit on hard times and lost to leaders Morganians 71-0, are home to Martock, winners of only one of their 14 matches.
WELLINGTON 2nd XV’s hopes of a hat-trick of wins in Somerset One this year were foiled by the cold weather on Saturday.
They were due to play at home to Chew Valley but the game was postponed because of a frozen pitch.
The 2nd XV have become the New Year in style by gaining big wins over Old Sulians and Clevedon 2nd XV.
Wiveliscombe’s match at home to Bridgwater & Albion in Somerset Premier was also called off for the same reason.
Postponed games mean empty clubhouses which is not good for financies.
