WELLINGTON Ladies Skittles League will be holding their annual meeting at the local football club in North Street on Monday, July 7 (8p.m.).

Ten teams competed in the league last winter with Jolly Blues losing only one match in winning the title. They won 18 of their 20 league games, drew one and lost one. They set the pace for much of the season and were the team to beat.

They finished seven points clear of runners-up Land Girls who won 16 of their league fixtures, losing four. Third were Split Pins who finished four points adrift of Land Girls with 14 wins from 20 games.

However, Split Pins enjoyed a successful season by winning the KO Cup which was played at the football club towards the end of February, beating Land Girls by 31 pins in the final. It meant Land Girls just missed out on silverware.

All teams must be represented at the league’s annual meeting.
