WELLINGTON Petanque Club have been undergoing maintenance at their new terrain at the rear of Wellington Sports Centre to make the area more welcoming, not only for members but also for the public.

The club recently acquired the licence from Somerset Council to undertake the upkeep of the terrain.

About a dozen members of the club met up at the terrain, complete with paint brushes and overalls, to carry out the much needed re-staining of the fencing surrounding the terrain.

Once completed there followed a well earned coffee and cake interlude before setting about coating the benches and chairs which are used on a regular basis.

Some three hours later, plus having had the grass both sides of the fencing strimmed the day before, it was agreed the efforts had 'all been worthwhile.'
