WELLINGTON Wanderers U11s welcomed Tone Youth on a windy Saturday morning, with both teams demonstrating the true spirit of youth football — respect, teamwork, and fair play from start to finish. Despite the challenging conditions of gale force winds and plenty of rain, the match was played in a fantastic atmosphere, with every player giving their best effort and showing great sportsmanship throughout.

From the first whistle, Wellington impressed with their teamwork and positive attitude. They supported one another with encouragement and communication, moving the ball calmly and unselfishly. The players showed growing confidence in their passing and positioning, always looking to involve their teammates and make thoughtful decisions. It was a pleasure to watch a side so focused on playing the game in the right way — with honesty, respect, and enjoyment.

Tone Youth also played their part in a competitive but friendly encounter, and both sets of players should be proud of the way they represented their clubs. There were plenty of smiles, handshakes, and words of encouragement shared on the pitch, reflecting the values that make grassroots football so special.

Wellington’s development since the start of the season continues to shine through — not only in their footballing ability but also in their growing sense of unity and respect for others. Each match brings new lessons and experiences, and the players continuing to respond with enthusiasm and maturity.

A big thank you goes to Roadchef, who are the team’s shirt sponsor, and R&M Motor, who are the match ball sponsor, for their ongoing support throughout the season. Their contributions help create opportunities for these young players to learn, grow, and enjoy the game in a positive, respectful environment.

The team, no doubt, will continue to improve with their support as the season progresses.
