WELLINGTON crashed to an 8-0 away defeat against Falmouth Town in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League yesterday (Sat).
Wellington never recovered from a poor start in which they conceded three goals in the opening 16 minutes with Tom Annear, Luke Brabyn and Alex Wharton hitting the back of the net.
Jacob Grange (27 minutes) and Brabyn (37) added further goals as Falmouth went in 5-0 up at the interval.
Despite some fine saves by Wellington goalkeeper Rhys Williams, Falmouth scored three more in the second half - through James Ward (58), Jared Sims (77) and Cam Hutchinson (94).
The only consolation for Wellington is the fact that their run of nine successive away games comes to an end next weekend when they play their first home match of the season - against St Blazey.
Falmouth's win keeps them in second place while Wellington remain in the bottom two.
