Teenage motorcycle racer Bradley Richman, when asked what he has been doing during lockdown, says he just wants to race now, writes Kerry Rawson.

The recent Bank Holiday Weekend would have been round three for the British Superbikes (BSB) Stock 600 races, which should have seen Bradley, from Wellington, getting to grips with his new Kawasaki and adapting to racing in the highly competitive series.

But sadly, like for the rest of the country – things have not gone to plan. First his testing trip to Spain was cancelled due to the foreign travel ban, then BSB fell victim to the mass events ban cancelling the April 1 test day, followed by round 1, 2 and 3.

Things were looking hopeful for round 4 at Snetterton but after the Prime Minister’s announcement at the start of May, that fell by the wayside too.

Bradley has been occupying himself – like many not currently working – by keeping fit, doing lots of cycling and running, as well as using tools like playing MotoGP19 to learn Silverstone and watching previous BSB Superstock 600 races to try to pick up tips.

Many motorcycle track days are now running with strict social distancing rules and Bradley plans to at least get some valuable track time in on his new machine by attending a couple, while we all wait to see what the next steps bring in the sporting world.

In the meantime, he is staying safe, focused and positive, and would like to thank all his sponsors for their patience, understanding and support at this difficult time.
