PLANS for Wellington’s new primary school, set to open on the Longforth Farm estate on the edge of town next autumn, have been revealed.

The Isambard Kingdom Brunel (IKB) school will have 14 classrooms, a large nursery, hall, studio, room for practical lessons like cooking, library and small group rooms.

The school, which will be built on a site in NormandyRow/Lillebonne Way, will also have lots of outdoor space with hard and soft play areas, and designated PE and sports areas.

IKB will have 14 classes and about 420 children once the school and nursery are fully operational, and is likely to employ more than 50 staff.

The plans for the school are going on show to prospective parents and the local community at an exhibition at Wellington Youth Centre today (Wednesday) from 4-7pm.
