THE stage version of the classic 1950 film All About Eve will be broadcast live to cinemas across the UK and internationally, including The Wellesley in Wellington next week, as part of national Theatre Live.

Ivo van Hove directs Gillian Anderson (The X Files, Bleak House, NT Live: A Streetcar Named Desire) and Lily James (Mama Mia: Here We Go Again, Downton Abbey, War & Peace) in his new adaptation, a razor-sharp, unsettling exposé of the eternal obsession at the heart of showbusiness. Lifting the curtain on a world of jealousy and ambition, this new production asks why people’s fascination with celebrity, youth and identity never seems to get old.

All About Eve is screened from the Noel Coward Theatre on Thursday, April 11.
