HOWARD Road, in Wellington, was blessed with good weather this year for their annual Fun Day on Saturday 12 September.

Crowds gathered, including Wellington Mayor, Cllr Mark Lithgow, who opened the event organised by Wellington Churches Together.

While children enjoyed glitter tattoos, splatting the rat and jumping around on a bouncy castle, parents took the chance to relax and listen to music from 10 Radio.

Hot and cold refreshments helped quench the thirst of the children gathered while a barbecue of sausages and burgers rounded off by home-made cakes kept up energy levels for the all-important games; egg throwing, sack races and a competitive tug of war.

A spokesperson for the organisers said: “Thank you to all who came and joined in the fun.”
