COMMUNITY spirit was alive at Court Fields School as students and staff celebrated their annual Madagascar Week.

The school has already raised £1,042 with further fundraising events still to take place.

The week-long programme featured a wide range of activities to engage the school community all while raising funds for the Madagascar Development Fund, making a real and lasting difference to communities in Madagascar.

Highlights included a popular non‑uniform day, lively sweet sales, and the ever-entertaining opportunity for students to water balloon a teacher, which proved to be a firm favourite.

A school spokesperson said: “By learning about and supporting young people in Madagascar, students are encouraged to consider the importance of fairness, equality and the right to education, health and safety for all children across the world.”
