THE John Walker Band are celebrating their tenth anniversary with a charity concert at Wellington Arts Centre in aid of cancer charity SURE.

The band is made up of John Walker, Tony Woollard and Andy Bearne – and the band’s drummer, John Steel, who has taken to playing bass guitar, adding new dynamics to performances.

The ‘Pot Pourri’ concert is this Saturday, (July 9) and tickets priced £6 are now available at Nurtured by Nature, South Street, or by calling 01823 667112.

Matinee and evening shows are being staged with cabaret-style seating. The concert promises to offer an exciting mix of music from the band’s eclectic tastes.

They continue to raise money for deserving charities every year and in the past have given to St Margaret’s Hospice, Macmillan Nursing, Alzheimer’s Association, SSAFA, Children’s Hospice South West and Cancer Research UK.
