HEAVY overnight rain caused pockets of floods across Wellington and the surrounding area.

The River Tone flooded over the Nynehead Road on Monday evening, December 15, causing the road to be impassable to cars.

The Wellington Relief Road junction into Pyles Thorne Close flooded with cars slowing to pass the water.

The A38 road passing Blackdown garden centre and Willowbrook garden centre was partially flooded but passable with care by driving on the opposite side of the carriageway, while further along near Sheppys cider farm motorists had to stay in the centre of the road to be able to pass through.

The road from Hillfarance through Oake was impassable for several hours due to deep flooding at its junction to the Anchor Inn, although Rectory Lane into Hillfarence was clear.
