THE TEAM at Rumwell Farm Shop just outside Wellington is celebrating a golden set of awards for the second time this year.

The family-run business on the A38 has been awarded six golds, a silver and four commended for its homemade products at the 2026 Taste of the West awards, just a month after winning golds at the Taste of the West hospitality and retail awards.

Farm Shop partner Anne Mitchell said: “Winning across such a wide range of categories this year is a real testament to the passion, creativity, and consistency of our whole team.

“To achieve so many gold awards again in 2026 is something we are incredibly proud of.

“These awards recognise not just the finished products our customers see in the shop, but the care that goes into every stage, from our farm to our kitchens and counters.”

Among this year’s top honours, Rumwell Farm Shop secured gold for its ‘Made At Rumwell’ gluten-free Bakewell blondie, shortbread Bakewell, white sourdough loaf, lardy cake, sweet and sour pork tapas, and bolognese sauce.

The farm shop also achieve silver for its gluten-free Scotch egg.

Fellow farm shop partner Sophie Mitchell said: “It is especially rewarding to see recognition across so many areas of the business – from our bakery and gluten-free kitchen to our butchery and ready meals.

Ms Mitchell said: “Our gluten-free Bakewell blondie taking gold is a brilliant example of how far that side of the business has come, while staples like our sourdough and new product development such as the sweet and sour pork tapas show how our teams are continuing to innovate, too.

“To also receive commendations across categories demonstrates the depth of quality we are producing every day.

“These awards mean a great deal to us and to our teams, who work incredibly hard to deliver the very best for our customers.”
