BLUEGRASS heroes Thunderbridge Bluegrass Band are busy in the recording studio putting together their sixth album.
The band, formed in Wellington in 2005, underwent a line-up change in 2014 and are now ready to debut some of the new songs which will feature on their next CD and vinyl release.
They are putting on another Bluegrass Night concert on Saturday, April 16, at The Beambridge Inn – in a change to the previously-advertised mini-fest – where a full set featuring new songs and some old classics will be played live, around one microphone in true Thunderbridge style.
Singer, songwriter and guitar player Nick Girone-Maddocks said: “These new songs are excellent – among the best I’ve ever written and certainly more progressive than the band has ever been.
“There’s also song contributions from fiddle player Matt and everyone’s input into the production of the songs has been fantastic. We just can’t wait to play them to a live audience.”
The band’s special guests are award-winning Cardboard Fox, a quartet who have forged a specific blend of folk and bluegrass music and are also touring their new album, Out of Mind.
The band, featuring the talents of nationally-renowned The Carrivick Sisters, are pleased to be heading to Wellington on the second date of their tour.
So, if fiddles, banjos, close harmonies and good old foot- tapping music is your thing get down to The Beambridge. Doors open at 6.30pm with the show starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available from www.thunderbridgebluegrass.uk, at Gibbins Richards in Wellington High Street or phone 07812 384293.
