A MAN who died in a barn blaze near Wellington in early April has been named as Laighton James Waymouth, 74, of New Barn, Runnington.

An inquest was told earlier this week that Mr Waymouth, who ran a garden nursery, was confirmed dead following the fire in barn buildings at his home address on April 4.

Senior Somerset coroner Tony Williams said there were no suspicious circumstances although the cause of death was not yet decided.

He said it is believed that a bonfire at the property got out of control setting alight the nearby barn and Mr Waymouth entered the barn to save property.

Crews from Wellington, Wiveliscombe Taunton and Bridgwater were sent to the incident and were joined by other firefighters.
