THE sheer volume of traffic caused problems for both motorists and pedestrians alike in Wellington’s town centre in the week leading up to Christmas Day.

And North Street and Longforth Road became roads to avoid if you were in a vehicle.

You had to be particularly patient otherwise the odd handbag might be thrown in frustration.

It is embarrassing, too, when you are caught out in ’no man’s land’ in the centre of Wellington.

There’s nothing you can do about it - only sit there and feel a fool. This happens when you are coming out of South Street.

The trouble is there is nothing you can do to avoid it. But it’s YOU who is now causing an obstruction regardless of whose fault it is.
