Wellington Basins Volunteers Group was delighted to have a surprise visit from the Rev Selina Garner just before Christmas and to hear it had been nominated for an Angel of Hope award.

Members of the public nominated people or groups they thought had served the local community and shown care in the last year.

Rev Selina presented the group with certificates and an angel chocolate to celebrate the achievement.

Sue Adams, from the group, said: “It is the intention of the Basins group to continue with its care of the Basins area and to provide enjoyment for the many people who come to the area.

“Much bulb and tree planting has taken place throughout the year to provide hope for the seasons and years ahead, and continued enjoyment for the community.”
