BEL Canto presented a wide range of music at St Mary’s Church, Hemyock, in a performance organised by the Friends of St Mary’s.

Their music ranged from classical and folk to jazz and musicals, performing everything from The Beatles’ Eleanor Rigby, For the Beauty (Rutter) and Ave Verum (Mozart), to Moon River (Mancini), and Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars.

The group of about 15 friends sang together at a wedding five years ago and this led to regular rehearsals and now performances throughout the year.

A profit of just over £117 was made for the upkeep and maintenance of the church.
