TAUNTON Deane MP Rebecca Pow with Bertie, the rescue dog she entered on behalf of the Dogs Trust for Westminster Dog of the Year, which has now been re-homed.
The two-year-old Jack Russell, now renamed Ludo, was abandoned as a puppy and has been in between homes ever since. He is settling in well, undergoing strict training with his new owners and has proven himself to be a keen learner.
Ms Pow said: “I entered the Westminster Dog of the Year competition to highlight issues relating to animal welfare and particularly to raise awareness regarding the excellent work done by so many charities which look after abandoned dogs.
“I am absolutely delighted Bertie has found a new home – I was sure he would prove irresistible.”
