SPROCKER spaniel Betty Boo keeps a watchful eye on the bumper crop of apples at Redhill Farm in Burlescombe.
Andrew Harvey, who runs a cottage industry making and selling juice, said: “There will be more than enough to make the juice we need to keep our customers healthy and happy.” The juice is on sale in Wellington at Mary Jenkins, the Larder and Rose’s Pantry, near Perrys.
A wassail party held round a big bonfire earlier this year may have helped with the crop. It involved loud singing for: ’Apples now! Hatfulls! Capfulls! Three bushell bags full! And a gurt heap under the stairs.’ Local community choir Wellington Voice of the People joined in.
