BLUE Badge holders using car parks in Wellington operated by Taunton Deane Borough Council are being reminded they now need to pay for their space following the introduction of new tariffs.
Previously, Blue Badge holders were entitled to free parking in the council’s car parks but this has changed. However, drivers with the badge will be entitled to 60 minutes free parking once they have made a payment and displayed their ticket.
This means that if a Blue Badge holder pays for an hour of parking, they will be able to park for two hours, with the second hour free of charge providing their valid Blue Badge is clearly displayed.
The change does not affect valid Blue Badge holders being allowed to park on the street without making a payment.
Information on the changes has been advertised and for more information visit www.tauntondeane.gov.uk
