IT’S that time of year when the John Walker Band raise funds for a worthwhile charity – and once again they have decided the Somerset Unit for Radio Therapy Equipment (SURE) will be the beneficiary.

This year’s concert, dubbed ‘Stars and Stripes’, will feature some of their favourite songs from the USA with music by Neil Diamond, The Eagles, Lionel Ritchie, The Band, Bob Dylan, Gershwin, Bruce Springsteen, John Denver, James Taylor, Carole King and many more.

The band are at Wellington Arts Centre in Eight Acre Lane on Saturday, July 29, with a matinee at 2.30pm and an evening show at 7.30pm. Tickets are on sale at Odette’s Tea Room in Wellington or from 01823 667112.
