Mixed views were expressed during a recent inspection of Wellington allotments.
Wellington Town Council’s allotments committee heard that plots were in a ‘good condition and a lot of work had been carried out following the bad weather earlier this year’.
A report said: “Many plots, including some recently taken over by new tenants, were now considered to be excellent. But a number of warnings had been issued and letters sent out to tenants requesting the plots be made ready for the growing season.”
A follow-up inspection would take place to ensure plots were being cultivated.
