THE builders of the proposed Jurston Farm development in Wellington want to put ‘another 17 units’ on the site.
Wellington town councillors were told at Monday’s monthly meeting: “A meeting with representatives of CG Fry and Son took place on April 18 regarding the various types of public open space which would be delivered at this development.
“It was explained that there were a number of options for taking control of the open spaces, as the development proceeded. These included them being adopted by TDBC, being passed to a management company or being adopted by the town council (with commuted summers where appropriate).
“It was agreed to continue a dialogue with the developers with the view to the town council taking on some or all of the open space and play.
“CG Fry had recently gained Reserved Matters approval for 176 dwellings on phases One and Two. The opportunity was taken to have an informal, without prejudice, look at a revised layout that would provide another 17 units.
“The revised layout would not change the principles agreed with regard to separation distances between existing properties adjacent to the boundary of the site.”
The developers will now be submitting a planning application for the ‘revised layout.
