SOME £1,000 of building materials is on offer every other month for good causes until March next year from RGB Building Supplies, which has branches in Wellington and Wiveliscombe.
The firm is asking the local community to get in touch and tell them who needs support from its Well Built Community Fund.
Having previously given materials to a heritage project, community centre, amateur dramatics group, special needs school, scout group and a library, for this campaign RGB is asking groups to nominate projects that fit in with the seasons.
For the first call out, it would like to hear from groups which need building materials to help with a summer project.

transform an outdoor area, a summer cycling club needs facilities to store equipment or

help build a stage for a summer festival – whatever the reason RGB would like to hear about it.
From all the nominations received three groups will be selected as finalists, then the local community will be asked to vote for who they would like to receive the building materials.
Paul Fleming, branch manager at RGB Wellington, said: “Our community fund continues to be extremely popular. Inviting groups to nominate projects that fit with specific seasons enables us to open up the fund to groups that perhaps haven’t fitted into a previous category.
“This year we will also be doing two giveaways to individuals who need our support, so will be asking the local community to nominate a friend or family member who deserves our help to complete a project in their own home.”
Groups can nominate their summer project by explaining how £1,000 worth of building materials could be of help.
Nominations can be made by email to [email protected] or by post to RGB Community Fund, c/o PMW Communications, PO Box 167, Bideford, Devon EX39 9DU. The closing date for nominations is Sunday, May 7.
